Punjab Government identifies 90,248 deceased beneficiaries under various pension schemes
Punjab Government has identified no less than 90,248 deceased beneficiaries under various pension schemes a move set to save the states Rs 13.53 crore per month and Rs 162.36 crore annually.
The states Social Security, Women and Child Development Department has conducted a survey on the directions of the Minister in-charge Dr Baljit Kaur, following which, as many as 90,248 deceased beneficiaries of various pension schemes were identified. With this step, the state treasury will be richer by 13.53 crore per month, said the Minister.
The Minister said that a survey of 30.46 lakh beneficiaries of Punjab has been conducted. On completion of this survey, 90248 deceased beneficiaries have been identified. By identifying the deceased beneficiaries, Punjab Government will save Rs 13.53 crore per month and Rs 162.36 crore annually, she said.
The Minister said that the Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) scheme will be implemented to pay the pension to the beneficiaries. The pension will be disbursed to the beneficiaries through business correspondence deployed by bank, she added.
To implement the scheme, the first two pilot projects will be started soon in the districts of Sangrur and Sri Muktsar Sahib, the Minister added.

Seven states make it to Level-II in PGI 2020-21
he Performing Grade Index (PGI) looks at the Indian Education system as one of the largest in the world, with about 14. 9 lakh schools, 95 lakh teachers, and nearly 26. 5 crore students from varied socio-economic backgrounds. Devised by thedepartment of school educationand Literacy, the index provides insights and data-driven mechanisms on the statewise performance of the school education system.
The education ministry on Thursday released PGI 2020-21.
Offering a comparative analysis, the latest index report stated that none of the states has so far attained the highest level (L-I). The topmost score in 2017-18 was Level IV which improved to Level II (score range 901-950 out of 1000 in 2020-21), implying consistent improvement across states/ UTs over the last four years.

The first of 6 data center buildings in the Greater Noida data center park,Yotta D1,has been set up with an Investment of around Rs. 1,500 crores and has been built and made operational in a record time of 20 months. Once fully operational, Yotta D1 will see an additional investment of Rs. 5,000 crores in IT equipment.
