Punjab education department embarks on ‘Mission 100%’

Buoyed by improved results in the last academic session, the Punjab education department has embarked upon ‘Mission 100%’ for board examinations next year.

To achieve the ambitious target, the department has chalked out a detailed month-wise programme. Based on the results of the internal examination, the department has started the process of identifying students of board classes — V, VII, X and XII — with less than 40% marks, between 40% to 80% and above 80%.

The school principals have been directed to pick best teachers of different subjects and entrust them with responsibility of holding extra classes and acting as mentors to enhance the performance of the identified students. Special attention will be paid to weak students, who, in addition to extra classes, will be given counselling and moral support to achieve better results. The schools will contact the parents of weak students and ask them to help and encourage their wards instead of instilling fear in them.
